The influential soundtrack Mick Gordon created for the 2016 reboot of ‘DOOM’ is being given the deluxe physical treatment for its upcoming 10th anniversary.
Laced Records are behind the new batch of releases, which will bring Gordon’s industrial metal-infused score to vinyl, CD, and cassette in several different editions.
Among the new offerings is a ‘Cyberdemon Splatter’ 4LP box set, featuring the complete 31-track soundtrack. That particular variant will be exclusive to Laced Records, while a standard black-vinyl edition will also be made available through Laced and participating retailers.
Collectors will also have the opportunity to pick up a repress of the existing 2LP edition, this time featuring transparent red discs. That version contains 20 tracks personally curated by Gordon.
Perhaps the most notable addition is the soundtrack’s first official cassette release. The new double-cassette edition will feature the complete 31-track score on transparent red shells and arrive in a double rave case designed around the game’s hellish visual aesthetic, including key artwork, infernal sigils, and industrial-inspired detailing.
For CD collectors, the double-CD edition is also being repressed. The complete 31-track soundtrack will once again be included, housed inside a deluxe triple-gatefold package.
Pre-orders are currently available through Laced Records, with the various editions tentatively scheduled to ship in March 2027.
Gordon’s work on ‘DOOM’ went on to become one of the most influential video game scores of the modern era, helping blur the line between game music and extreme metal. The soundtrack’s success also opened the door to collaborations with artists including Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White, and 3Teeth, among others.
The score is also set to make the jump from the game to the stage. As previously announced, Gordon will perform the ‘DOOM’ soundtrack live at next year’s RADAR Festival, with a backing band and orchestra accompanying him for the performance.
