Organizers of the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival have confirmed that the festival will not return in 2026, describing the break as a temporary pause rather than a permanent closure. In a statement posted online, the festival team said:
“After a great run, we’re taking 2026 off. This isn’t goodbye – it’s just a breather. [New England Metal & Hardcore Festival] will return. Thank you for always showing up and making this fest what it is.”
The festival, which originally ran from 1999 to 2016 and returned from 2023 to 2025, has been a cornerstone of the New England metal and hardcore scenes. The most recent edition featured headliners Lorna Shore, Cannibal Corpse, and Kublai Khan TX, with shows typically held at the Worcester Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.
No further details regarding the reason for the 2026 hiatus have been disclosed, though fans can anticipate the festival’s eventual return.
