Roger Waters Says He ‘Regrets Nothing’ Over Ozzy Osbourne Remarks, Calls Sharon Osbourne a “Raging Zionist”

Roger Waters has doubled down on his controversial comments about the late Ozzy Osbourne, making it clear he has no intention of walking them back.

The former Pink Floyd co-founder recently appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he was pressed about remarks he made shortly after Osbourne’s passing last July. Those comments sparked public outrage and drew sharp responses from the Osbourne family.

Waters had originally dismissed Ozzy’s legacy outright, saying he had no interest in Black Sabbath and mocking Ozzy’s infamous stage antics. The remarks led to a heated rebuttal from Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne and later, a public condemnation from Sharon Osbourne, who said:

“He has no charisma… Nobody likes him unless you’re a fascist. He’s one of those… He’s just pathetic.”

The feud intensified when the Osbournes released a shirt depicting Ozzy urinating on Waters’ 1990 live Pink Floyd release The Wall, with the phrase:

“another prick in the wall.”

During his interview with Morgan, Waters was questioned on whether his comments contradicted his public advocacy for empathy. On reacting to Osbourne’s music and antics, he said:

“Do I have to like every rock group there ever was in the world or people who bite the heads off bats?”

Pressed further about the timing of his comments, Waters shrugged off criticism:

“Obviously I had no idea that Sharon Osbourne would be watching a podcast by a very well-known and respected cartoonist in-conversation.”

When asked if he would apologize to Sharon Osbourne for the personal offense, Waters responded:

“Yeah of course I will, if I caused — not that I have any time for Sharon Osbourne. She’s a raging Zionist and in consequence… she’s constantly accused me of all kinds of things because she is part of the Israeli lobby.”

Asked whether he would apologize to the Osbourne family as a whole, Waters was blunt:

“Not really.”

He later addressed Jack Osbourne directly:

“Well Jack… if he wants to have a chat, I’ll have a chat with him, I promise you, and I won’t be nasty to him. Well, I’m, you know, yeah, I’m sorry you lost your dad, Jack, but this is like, you have conversations about things and about people, ‘what do you think?’ Well, ‘not a lot.’ I was honest.”

Waters reiterated his position on Black Sabbath’s legacy and Ozzy personally:

“I said I didn’t like Black Sabbath… I’ve listened to some of it since. And the music is perfectly kind of acceptable. It was all the kind of histrionics of I don’t like people who bite the heads off bats. I don’t. I think it’s disgusting, and I’ve said that again now. I know he’s dead, and he can’t come back and go, ‘Yeah, I’m sorry I bit the heads off bats,’ if he ever did. Who knows whether he did or not? I don’t want to talk about it.”

Finally, Waters summed up his feelings about the Osbourne family and his life philosophy:

“I regret nothing in life, except that I haven’t been more successful in getting people to understand how important it is that we as a human race recognize and empathize with all of our brothers and sisters all over the world… The Osbourne family? No, I’m not that interested in them.”
