Roger Waters has criticized Metallica frontman James Hetfield, calling him a “complete prick” during an appearance on The Katie Halper Show. Waters took issue with Hetfield’s recent comments at the Sphere in Las Vegas, where the guitarist said Metallica’s agenda was “love, energy and heavy music,” rather than influencing fans with outside messaging. Waters also revisited Hetfield’s past response to reports that Metallica’s music had been used during the torture of Iraqi prisoners, escalating the latest debate over musicians, politics, and public statements.
