Thrash metal legends Slayer have surprisingly come out of retirement for a pair of shows this year. The band initially capped off their career with a farewell tour back in 2019. Since then, guitarist Kerry King has begun his solo career.
Tom Araya, the band’s vocalist/bassist, offered:
“Nothing compares to the 90 minutes when we’re on stage playing live, sharing that intense energy with our fans, and to be honest, we have missed that.”
Kerry King added:
“Have I missed playing live? Absolutely. Slayer means a lot to our fans; they mean a lot to us. It will be five years since we have seen them.”
So far the band’s reunion shows are this year’s ‘Riot Fest‘ on September 22nd and ‘Louder Than Life‘, which has the band scheduled for September 27th.
