Slipknot are continuing work on their forthcoming eighth studio album, with guitarist Jim Root recently confirming that the band remains in the tracking stage for the new record.
Root’s recent social media activity included the hashtag #newrecord, while a subsequent Instagram story further indicated that recording sessions for the highly anticipated follow-up to 2022’s ‘The End, So Far’ are currently underway.
The band revealed earlier this year that they had already amassed around 50 song ideas for the new album and had brought in producer Matt Wallace, known for his work with Faith No More and Mushroomhead, to oversee the project.
The upcoming record will mark several changes for Slipknot, serving as their first proper studio album since the departure of longtime turntablist Sid Wilson. It will also be the group’s first full-length release featuring drummer Eloy Casagrande, who joined the band in 2024.
Slipknot’s deal with longtime label Roadrunner Records concluded with the release of ‘The End, So Far’, leaving the band’s plans for releasing their next album currently unknown.
For now, however, the focus remains on getting the new material recorded, with Slipknot’s next chapter continuing to take shape in the studio.
