Industrial electronic metal trio Sol Invicto have unveiled a new instrumental edition of their 2024 debut EP, Loosely Aware.
The project, which features producer/guitarist Richie Londres, Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter, and Cypress Hill percussionist Eric Bobo, originally arrived with vocals from Sean Plague. This newly released version strips away those vocal tracks, presenting the material in what the band describes as its purest form.
SikTh drummer Dan Foord, who contributed studio drumming to the original EP, also appears on the release.
According to Londres, the instrumental version reflects the project’s original vision.
Londres said:
“This is the music in its true, raw original format, how it was always meant to be experienced. Being an instrumental project at its core, it felt overdue to put this out.
I’m pleased to share it exclusively on the SUBVERT platform, which is very artist centric and very much against supporting the deluge of artificially generated music running rampant on most platforms.”
The release is available exclusively through SUBVERT, a cooperative artist-owned marketplace designed to provide musicians with a more direct and equitable alternative to traditional streaming and digital distribution services.
The instrumental edition follows Sol Invicto’s 2025 reworking of Loosely Aware, which introduced guitarist Xander Raymond Charles into the fold.
Beyond revisiting their debut EP, the group also have additional projects in development. An updated version of their 2013 release Initium II is currently in the works and will feature newly recorded bass tracks from Adrien Contreras of Will Haven. Meanwhile, work continues on Sol Invicto’s long-awaited debut full-length album.
