Stitched Up Heart Recruit Butcher Babies’ Heidi Shepherd For New Single “CANNIBAL”

Stitched Up Heart have unveiled their latest single, “CANNIBAL,” a collaborative track featuring guest vocals from Butcher Babies frontwoman Heidi Shepherd. The song arrives alongside an official music video directed by Tony Aguilera and serves as another preview of the band’s upcoming album ‘MEDUSA’, due out June 12th via Judge & Jury Records.

“CANNIBAL” continues a string of guest-driven releases tied to the record, following “SICK SICK SICK” featuring Lauren Babic and “GLITCH BITCH,” which included members of Conquer Divide. Together, the tracks form part of a broader trilogy of collaborations showcased ahead of the album’s release.

Frontwoman Mix Demner reflected on the long history between herself and Shepherd, recalling their earliest shared moments within the scene and how that connection ultimately led to the collaboration.

“‘Cannibal’ is a song for the man-eaters, to all of the baddies stealing hearts and eating them for breakfast. I was at Butcher Babies’ very first show… Heidi hurled this wrecked Barbie into the crowd… I caught it. Looking back at that moment it felt like she’d passed me a torch. ‘Hey girl, let’s conquer this industry together.’”

Demner described the collaboration as a full-circle moment, noting that years of mutual support and parallel careers made finally working together especially meaningful.

Shepherd echoed that sentiment, calling the track a long-awaited partnership between two artists who have grown alongside each other in heavy music.

“I’ve been a big fan of Mixi and Stitched Up Heart for nearly two decades. We’ve clawed our way through this industry together… After all of these years, it’s so fitting that ‘Cannibal’ is the song that we finally get to SCREAM together!”

Shepherd added that the energy behind both the song and its accompanying video made the collaboration one of her favorite guest appearances to date.
