Gold-certified Mongolian folk metal outfit The HU have unveiled a new music video for “Warrior Chant,” the opening track from their third studio album ‘Hun’.
Released in July, ‘Hun’ finds the band continuing to expand their signature Hunnu Rock sound, with “Warrior Chant” leaning heavily into Mongolian traditional instrumentation and rhythms.
Galbadrakh “Gala” Tsendbaatar explained that the track’s rhythm is particularly representative of the band’s sound, with the arrangement incorporating horse head fiddle, Mongolian wind instruments and heavy percussion.
“‘Warrior Chant’ has our signature rhythm that our fans fell in love with and everyone who will listen and know us will say that it is our song.”
Tsendbaatar also noted that he and Enkush approached the horse head fiddle solos by mimicking the gait of a horse, while Jaya and Unu contributed Mongolian wind instrumentation and percussion, respectively.

The HU are currently on the final stretch of their North American run supporting Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, with Orgy also appearing on the trek.
