Buffalo, NY-based metalcore band Until I Wake have released a lyric video for their new single, “The Reverence”. This track offers fans another glimpse of the band’s newest vocalist, Justin Smith, and marks the second song they’ve put out since officially bringing him on board. Landon Tewers of The Plot In You handled the production and recording for the track. Smith shared his thoughts on the song, saying:
“‘The Reverence’ is a huge ‘f**k you’ to all the people who’ve tried to tear me down—whether it was those who doubted me when I joined the band, the teachers who told me music was a waste of time, or the people who are so miserable that their only joy comes from dragging others down. There’s a silent respect among those who take risks and chase their dreams, which is why we named the song ‘The Reverence’.”
Guitarist Niko Karras added:
“I wrote the instrumental in about three hours right after leaving the gym, just before heading to Landon’s studio. I had so much adrenaline from the workout that we ended up creating the heaviest track we’ve ever written.”
