Kittie vocalist Morgan Lander has officially revealed a new musical venture, introducing her orchestral darkwave project Winterlvst after nearly a decade of development behind the scenes.
The project was announced via social media, where Lander confirmed the band has been in the works for years before finally coming to life publicly. Winterlvst’s lineup connects several notable names from the metal scene, including Blackguard drummer Justine Ethier and keyboardist/synth player Jonathan Lefrançois-Leduc, both of whom contributed to the songwriting for the group’s debut material. Former Vehemal vocalist Martine Bourque also assisted on the project’s lead track.
While multiple collaborators were involved creatively, Winterlvst’s official lineup currently lists Lander, Leduc, and Ethier as the band’s core members.
The band will release their debut album, ‘Awakening’, on April 03rd. Ahead of that release, the first single, “Broken Lines,” is now available for streaming.
Lander’s collaboration with members of Blackguard is far from new territory. She previously appeared on the band’s 2019 track “By My Hand” and has also worked alongside Ethier in the band Karkaos, further tying together the musicians behind this new project.
