Ex-Crystal Lake Vocalist John Robert Centorrino Claims “Crystal Lake Wants To Tour 10 Months Out Of The Year, And Then One Person Keeps All The Money”

Former Crystal Lake vocalist John Robert Centorrino has publicly hinted at behind-the-scenes issues within the band, suggesting that his March 2026 departure involved more than the family-focused explanation initially shared by both sides.

When Centorrino exited the Japanese metalcore outfit earlier this year, both he and the band indicated that the decision was largely driven by his desire to spend more time with his young child. However, comments posted to his Facebook page on June 7 paint a more complicated picture.

Centorrino first signaled that he intends to publicly address his experience with the band in greater detail, writing:

“Going to tell my Crystal Lake story because I think you all deserve to know the truth of who they really are. Gathering all the information to show the truth and not just talk it. Its time someone stood up to them. I will be that person. Be patient while I put this together.”

While he did not provide specific allegations in the initial post, a follow-up comment appeared to offer insight into some of the issues he plans to discuss.

“You would have to focus on Parenthood too if the people you worked for weren’t paying you enough money to actually keep your lights on, missing your kid grow up. Borrowing money from your grandparents to pay bills. But Crystal Lake wants to tour 10 months out of the year. And then one person keeps all the money.”

The remarks suggest that Centorrino’s concerns may involve both financial compensation and the demands of the band’s touring schedule, though he has not yet provided evidence supporting those claims or identified the individual referenced in his comment.

At the time of publication, Crystal Lake have not publicly responded to Centorrino’s latest statements.

The band has yet to announce a permanent replacement following Centorrino’s departure. Myke Terry of Volumes and Fire From The Gods is currently slated to handle vocal duties for a portion of Crystal Lake’s upcoming North American tour dates.

With Centorrino promising additional details and documentation in the future, the story appears likely to develop further in the coming days.
