Slipknot have officially returned with their first new music in three years, unexpectedly dropping a brand-new single titled “Arsenal.”
The track marks the band’s first released song featuring drummer Eloy Casagrande, who joined Slipknot in 2024 following the departure of Jay Weinberg. It also arrives following the exit of longtime turntablist Sid Wilson earlier this summer.
“Arsenal” is Slipknot’s first new song since 2023’s “Bone Church,” making the surprise release their first proper musical statement since that standalone track.
The arrival of Casagrande’s first studio recording with the band has been a long time coming. The drummer previously revealed that Slipknot began working on new material with him shortly after he joined, including a song that was reportedly being developed under the working title “Long May You Die.”
Whether “Arsenal” is that previously discussed composition or an entirely separate track remains unclear.
Casagrande previously explained that the new material was also part of his audition process, saying the band presented him with new ideas to gauge his songwriting abilities.
“I think that was also part of the audition, they threw new ideas at me to see what my songwriting was like. They wanted to test me in every way.”
After multiple tours with Slipknot under his belt, Casagrande has now officially made his studio debut with the band.

The single follows the release of ‘Look Outside Your Window’ earlier this year, the long-awaited experimental Slipknot side project featuring material recorded during the sessions for 2008’s ‘All Hope Is Gone.’ The band’s most recent proper studio album remains ‘The End, So Far,’ which arrived in 2022.
