The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards honored the late Ozzy Osbourne with a powerful tribute performance just months after his passing at age 76.
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, YUNGBLUD, and Nuno Bettencourt joined forces on stage to deliver a medley of Osbourne classics, including “Crazy Train,” “Changes,” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”
The performance was introduced by Jack Osbourne alongside several of Ozzy’s grandchildren, who shared a heartfelt video message with the audience:
“I know for sure it would make him incredibly happy to see these great musicians carry on his legacy and help inspire the next generation of rockers.”
His grandkids closed with a nod to their grandfather’s signature anthem:
“In the words of our papa, ‘Let’s go crazy.’”
Osbourne’s presence has long been tied to MTV, with ‘The Osbournes’ reality series becoming a cultural phenomenon from 2002–2005. He also received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2002.
Earlier this summer, Osbourne reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for what would become their final show on July 5.
The VMAs tribute closed with all the performers shouting together: “Ozzy forever, man.”
