YUNGBLUD has earned several nominations for the upcoming 2026 GRAMMY Awards, including ‘Best Rock Performance’ for his live rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes”, performed in tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne. The performance took place this past July during the ‘Back To The Beginning’ farewell event celebrating Osbourne and the legacy of Black Sabbath.
While the 1972 classic has seen multiple revivals over the years—including a 2003 duet between Ozzy and his daughter Kelly, and a soulful 2013 cover from the late Charles Bradley—it remained a deep cut that was seldom performed live by Sabbath or Osbourne.
For the tribute performance, YUNGBLUD was joined by Frank Bello (Anthrax) on bass, Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) on guitar, II (Sleep Token) on drums, and Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath) on keys. The moment was widely praised as one of the night’s highlights.
The connection between YUNGBLUD and the Osbourne family runs deep. In 2022, he was taken under their wing, with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne appearing in his “The Funeral” music video. The two later shared a heartfelt moment backstage at ‘Back To The Beginning’, where YUNGBLUD presented Ozzy with a personal gift.
Following news of the Grammy nomination, Sharon celebrated the achievement on social media, writing:
“I’m so proud of you. It’s just amazing and I know Ozzy is smiling down at you. Love you always, Sharon.”
YUNGBLUD responded in turn, expressing his gratitude:
“They’ve nominated ‘CHANGES at Villa Park’ for Best Rock Performance at the Grammys, ‘IDOLS’ for Best Rock Album, and ‘ZOMBIE’ for Best Rock Song. Thank you to you and your family for giving me the opportunity you did and your stage to show the world what I could do. Thank you for teaching us all how to dream and never compromise. From one madman from England to another, I love you OZ and I hope one day I can show you how much.”
